Dr. Mohd Shahrudin Abd Manan has a special interest in understanding design within two discursive aspects: as a social reality and developmental strategy. He explores design within the polemics of critical theory concerning semiology, psychoanalysis, metamodernism, cybernetics and post-humanism. Like a building, he believes that language itself is a form of constructive structure.
